Youth

Catechism

 Children can register for catechism the same year that they enter the first grade. Catechism is the preparation towards First Communion and Confirmation, which happen in second and eighth grade respectively. In Sacred Heart, we do Family Catechism. Instead of doing catechism by grade, we invite families who have one or more children of catechism age to take part in learning more about God and together strengthen everyone’s faith.

Belong

Here at Sacred Heart Parish we believe that our families want to learn more about the richness and beauty of our Catholic Faith.

Our program “Belong” will be designed to foster our children’s natural desire to grow closer to God, and provide touch points for parents to connect with their children on important faith issues.

Our program will help us to learn more about God’s written word, deepen our faith knowledge and provide a solid faith foundation, while coming together as a faith based community where we all “Belong”.

Youth Group

Our “Ignite” youth group is open to youth in Grades 7 – 12. Youth Group is every Wednesday after school until 5:30 pm. It is a chance to spend time with youth for prayer, faith sharing, teaching and community. Supper is provided. New members are welcome anytime!.

Sunday School

Sunday School at Sacred Heart is for toddlers up to children who have received their First Communion. It takes place during Sunday Mass from September until June. During Sunday School we pray, have a lesson, and do a craft! It is a great way for little ones to start getting used to Mass, as they sit in the congregation until they are called upstairs before the First Reading.

Altar Servers

Altar servers are volunteers who help the priest on the altar during the Mass. They have a number of different tasks to do during the Mass. Children in fourth grade and above who are interested in possibly becoming an altar server may contact the parish office.
