Sacraments

Baptism

Baptisms will take place on the last Sunday of the month, unless otherwise requested.

If you are interested in having your child baptized at our parish, you must contact the parish office to give information. We will pass on your information to our baptism team, and they will then be in contact with you. A baptism preparation meeting with a member of our baptism team will be required, and the date of that will be decided when a baptism team member reaches out to you.

Adults wishing to be baptized can contact the parish office for more information.

First Communion

Children receive their First Holy Communion when they are in second grade. Preparation begins in the fall with catechism. Through catechism, children will learn how to receive the Eucharist, as well as receive their First Reconciliation, or First Confession. Parents should be involved in the preparation of this sacrament.

Adults wishing to receive their First Communion can contact the parish office for more information

Confirmation

Through Confirmation, a child is seen as an adult in the church. In our parish, children are confirmed at the end of their eighth grade year. The preparation for being confirmed begins in the fall of their eighth grade year.

Each year, there are also retreats for the confirmation kids to experience to grow closer to God through people closer to their own age.

Adults wishing to be confirmed can contact the parish office for more information.

Reconciliation

Confessions are offered at Sacred Heart on Saturday from 11:00am to 12:00pm.

Confessions can also be arranged at a private time by contacting the parish office.

Marriage

Weddings must be booked five months in advance. The couple must have a marriage prep course completed, and they must make an appointment to meet with the priest. Call the parish office.
